Shower Storage Selector

Tell us about your shower walls, whether you can drill, and what you need to store. We’ll rule out mounting methods that won’t hold on your surface.

Question 1 of 8

What are your shower walls made of?

How this tool decides

Shower storage fails for predictable reasons: suction cups can’t seal on textured tile, adhesives don’t bond across grout lines, heavy caddies strain shower arms, and plated steel rusts. The selector checks your walls, lease, shower fixtures, and storage needs against those failure modes before ranking anything.

  • Suction and adhesive mounts are ruled out unless the surface is smooth, and adhesives are always marked “Check first,” because removal can pull glaze or finish.
  • Shower-arm caddies are ruled out for heavy loads.
  • Drilled shelves only appear if you said drilling is allowed. If you’re not sure, they’re flagged so you can check your lease.

On textured tile, choose storage that doesn’t rely on the wall surface: tension poles, shower-arm caddies, door hangers, or freestanding shelves.

Rust

If rust has been a problem, the selector notes materials that hold up: aluminum, plastic, and solid stainless steel (304 grade is more corrosion-resistant than 201). It also adds habits that keep metal dry. See rust-free shower storage for details.
